Public safety open house in Turners Falls Sunday

MONTAGUE — The Turners Falls Fire Department and the Montague Police Department are holding a “public safety” open house on Sunday.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Safety Complex at 180 Turnpike Road in Turners Falls.

Besides tours of the two departments, people will get a chance to meet K9 Artie, get some fire extinguisher and other fire safety training.

Also, flu shots will be available (through RiteAid and with an insurance card) along with a blood pressure clinic. The Masonic Lodge will be offering Child ID Kits while the local Elks chapter is offering information on drug awareness. Information about child seats and their installation will be available.

Free food and raffles for prizes are part of the open house as well.
