Beauty of color

As I read today’s Home and Garden article on The Last Roses of Summer I find it really difficult to appreciate the two photos of roses because they are in black and white.

I imagine these roses are quite beautiful, but how can I tell? Why even bother showing these pictures? How well do you think all the flower catalog companies would do if their photos were in black and white?

I fully understand that color print is expensive, and I’m very glad that your newspaper has brought color back to the wildlife page, but can’t you also publish garden photos in color? Page one of the sports section really doesn’t need color; page 2 doesn’t have it and the photos look fine.

I think we all need something beautiful to look at in nature and that requires color.
