Remember the slogan “Keep America Beautiful” and “Don’t Be A Litterbug?” Those of us in our 60s and older do. For the past two years my husband and I have been picking up trash along several of the roads in Hadley, Sunderland, Leverett and Montague. It is a never-ending battle as the repeat offenders keep throwing things out of their vehicles. We need everyone’s help in keeping our roads clean, we know there are others who also dislike the trash since we get people giving us waves, thanks and thumbs up. In the past there was a moral conscience about not littering and as a society we need to get that back. Please stop littering and love your countryside.
