NEW SALEM — The town has a new Selectboard member following Monday’s annual town election.

Mailande DeWitt, a University of Connecticut School of Law graduate who currently serves as a New Salem Public Library trustee, will fill a two-year vacancy on the Selectboard left by Zara Dowling, who announced in February her plans to step down. DeWitt, running unopposed, received 84 votes.

According to Town Clerk Stacy Senflug, 89 of Wendell’s 873 registered voters cast their ballots, making for a roughly 10% voter turnout.

The remaining results are as follows:

■Selectboard, three-year term — Susan Cloutier, 80 votes.

■Board of Health, three-year term — Jenny Potee, 82 votes.

■Assessor, three-year term — Eric Hamm, 82 votes.

■Planning Board, five-year term — David Cramer, 79 votes.
