Greenfield, Sept. 4

 7:42 p.m. — One person was assisted by MedCare after a two-car crash on the bridge in Allen Street. A Pontiac was towed from the scene.

Greenfield, Sept. 5

Noon — Police arrested Sherrie Smith, 31, of Chapman Street on a warrant, after finding her at Big Y. 

Greenfield, Sept. 7

12:36 p.m. — A truck was stuck under the bridge on Cheapside Street, resulting in minor damage. 

11:45 p.m. —The Fire Department responded to a suspected structure fire on Bayberry Court, but the fire that was started from cooking was out by the time firefighters arrived. 

Greenfield, Sept. 8 

12:40 a.m. — Police attempted to serve a warrant at Hillside Park, near the woods, but could not find the person.

9:03 a.m. — An accident without injuries occurred between a red 2017 Subaru Forester and a brown 2005 Ford Freestyle near Dunkin’ Donuts, located on the Mohawk Trail. When the driver of the Subaru was backing out of a parking space on the north side of the building, the vehicle struck the Ford whose driver had stopped in the parking lot looking for an available space. One driver received a citation for failure to use care while backing, and both vehicles sustained minor damage.

10:13 a.m. — A Heather Court caller reported she left her red Schwinn bicycle at a friend’s house in Leyden Woods 10 days earlier and has since been stolen. It was not locked up.

3:35 p.m. — A traffic stop on Interstate 91 involving a red 2012 Chevrolet Cruze resulted in the arrest on a warrant of Regina Davis, 36, of Fitchburg.

5:12 p.m. — An accident without injuries occurred between a white 2017 Hyundai Elantra and a green 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the intersection of Cheapside and Deerfield streets.

12:07 a.m. — A caller at The People’s Pint on Federal Street reported she was assaulted by a white man who she described as being in his mid-20s, approximately 5 feet and 7 inches tall, with a slender build and wearing a black Nike hoodie and gray sweatpants. Police couldn’t find anyone matching the description in the area.

9:30 a.m. — Police arrested Allen K. Vight, 64, of Ashfield, for drinking an open container of alcohol in public and driving with a suspended license. Vight also had a warrant for his arrest.

Greenfield, Sept. 9

8:15 p.m. — Police arrested Christopher Adamcek, 34, of Haydenville Road in Whately on a warrant at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.

Greenfield, Sept. 10

1:04 p.m. — Police arrested Joseph D. Atherton, 23, of Fargo Drive at his home on a warrant.

4:15 p.m. — A box truck got stuck underneath the bridge at Arch Street. The truck had to be pulled out by a tow. Amtrak was contacted to inspect the bridge but then said they would contact Pan Am Railways to come out to the scene since they are too far out.

Greenfield, Sept. 11

6 a.m. — Police responded to an overdose, having MedCare transport a person at Grove Street to the hospital. A roommate called the police telling them that her friend had sent her a text at 5:30 a.m. saying she had taken 200 sleeping pills.

Greenfield, Sept. 12

12:58 a.m. — Police arrested Stephen M. Emerson, 30, of Haywood Street on several charges: operating under the influence of liquor with a blood alcohol content level 0.08 or greater, possession of a Class B drug, speeding, marked lanes violations and operating a motor vehicle in violation with license restriction. Emerson was stopped near The Meadows Cafe and Golf Center on Deerfield Street. 

7:58 a.m. — A person’s tires were reported to be punctured on Leyden Road.
