TURNERS FALLS — A tractor trailer coming from Hillside Plastics rolled over as it headed down hill toward Third Street Friday afternoon.

The accident led to the temporary closure of the street but no significant injuries, according to police.

The driver, who is from New Hampshire, sustained minor injuries at best, according to the Montague Police. He was brought to Baystate Franklin Medical Center by AMR ambulance.

Police said the driver was wearing his seatbelt.

The tractor trailer rested on its side on the guard rail of Unity Street, which turns into Third at the bottom of the hill that oversees the ball fields and the riverfront.

Police didn’t know what was inside the truck immediately. Hillside Plastics makes several products including maple syrup containers.

Cause of the accident remains under investigation of Montague Police.

Turners Falls Fire Department responded to the crash.
