The Behavioral Health Network (BHN) just launched a new version of its website, bhninc.org, to improve user experience and access to programs and services.

Headquartered in Springfield, BHN has been providing behavioral health services to children and families throughout Western Massachusetts since 1938. It includes the Northern Hope Center and Franklin Recovery Center on Federal Street on the former Lunt Silversmith property in Greenfield.

According to a BNH press release, the organization determined the need for a more responsive and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant website that provides a better experience and is mobile-friendly. The new website also has an interactive map to explore BNH locations based on specific service needs.

During a research and review process, data and analytics were used to see how users interact with BHN’s digital presence. The new website was designed to improve the user experience through streamlined design, improved functionality and increased accessibility, according to the release. Future phases of redesign will include an intelligent search feature, live chat and other ongoing performance enhancements.

“Our new website offers greater access and clarity about our services for our participants and those looking for services,” said Kathy Wilson, BHN president and CEO. “The field of behavioral health is rapidly changing and our new website reflects our responses to meet the growing needs of the region. Part of the focus is a mobile-friendly website that meets those we serve where they access the internet and provides easy access to our locations.”

The new website was designed by Wild Apple Design Group of Springfield. Paul Robbins Associates Strategic Communications, BHN’s communications agency, served as project lead for the website’s development.
