Shelburne town clerk shareselection details

SHELBURNE — Town Clerk Joe Judd advises that this year’s annual town election is scheduled for May 21 at Cowell Gymnasium, 51 Maple St. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Nomination papers will be available at the Town Clerk’s Office beginning March 3. The last day to obtain nomination papers is April 18 and the last day to return nomination papers to Judd is April 23.

The following positions will appear on the ballot: Selectboard, three-year term; Selectboard, one-year unexpired term; assessor, three-year term; town clerk, one-year term; moderator, one-year term; Shelburne Free Public Library trustee, two positions with three-year terms; Planning Board, five-year term; Planning Board, two-year unexpired term; Recreation Committee, five-year term; Recreation Committee, four-year unexpired term; tree warden, one-year term; and constable, three-year term.

Voters who are unable to get to the polls on Election Day can request a mail-in ballot once they become available. Unlike the state and federal elections, to receive a mail-in ballot for the town election, voters must contact the Town Clerk’s Office and request one prior to April 29.

Additionally, early in-person voting will be offered on May 13, 14 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shelburne Town Hall, 51 Bridge St.

March 9: ‘Winter at the Fair’

HEATH — The Heath Agricultural Society will host “Winter at the Fair” on Saturday, March 9, at 4:30 p.m. at the Heath Fairgrounds.

Attendees can bring their own snowshoes and cross-country skis to travel around the property. There will also be a bonfire and food and beverages for sale.

All money raised through concessions will benefit the Heath Agricultural Society, though admission to the event itself is free. People can also attend to learn about the Agricultural Society and consider becoming members.

Rowe Democratic Town Committee holding caucus

ROWE — The Rowe Democratic Town Committee will hold a caucus on Saturday, March 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Town Hall to elect one delegate and one alternate to represent Rowe at the State Democratic Convention in June.

Lee Harrison, co-chair of the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s Rural Issues Subcommittee will speak at the caucus and the general meeting that follows.

Youths ages 16 and up, people of color, veterans and members of the LGBTQ community are encouraged to apply to be add-on delegates.

Heath town clerk outlines election plans

HEATH — Town Clerk Mary Sumner advises that this year’s annual town election is scheduled for May 10 at the Heath Municipal Building, 18 Jacobs Road. Polls will be open from noon to 7 p.m.

Nomination papers are now available at the Town Clerk’s Office. The last day to obtain nomination papers is March 20 and the last day to return nomination papers to Sumner is March 22.

The following positions will appear on the ballot: Selectboard, three-year term; assessor, three-year term; Finance Committee, three positions with three-year terms; Planning Board, five-year term; library trustee, three-year term; School Committee, one-year unexpired term; School Committee, three-year term; Municipal Light Board, two positions with three-year terms; constable, three-year term; and town clerk, three-year term.
