Addie Loomis and Riley Giard broke the game open with big hits in the bottom of the fifth inning for Mohawk Trail on Wednesday against Pioneer.

Loomis got things started by blasting a grand slam to deep center field. Giard later hit a home run of her own, with that one ending up as the walk-off hit to lift the Warriors to a 16-3 run-ruled Franklin County League East victory in Buckland.

“I’m so proud of these girls,” Mohawk Trail coach Sherri Lannon said. “They played so well today.”

Sophia Goodnow knocked two hits while Giard, Aileen Moffatt and Abby Moffatt each added a single for the Warriors. Giard got the win in the circle, striking out four.

Laylah Goulston, Jacobia Tyminski, Kelly Baird, Avery Johnson and Emma Peterson each tallied a hit for the Panthers. Brayleigh Burgh struck out two in the loss.

Franklin Tech 12, Pathfinder 0 (5) — Lilly Ross tossed a gem for the Eagles, tossing just 55 pitches, striking out five, walking one while throwing a five-inning no-hitter to lift Franklin Tech to an independent win over the Pioneers in Turners on Wednesday.

“She pitched extremely well,” Eagles coach Joe Gamache said. “She was hitting her location on all the pitches we called and when they put the ball in play she got support from her defense. Offensively we had a ton of hits. All three aspects of the game went well and that stems from Lilly taking control in the circle.”

Kendra Campbell (double, two singles, RBI), Cordelia Guerin (three singles and an RBI) and Kait Trudeau (double, two singles, two RBIs) led the offensive charge for Franklin Tech. Shelby O’Leary singled, doubled and brought in three runs, Kylee Gamache knocked a single and a double, Kyra Goodell tallied two hits and an RBI and Hannah Gilbert doubled in the victory.
