High Schools: Greenfield girls tennis wins second match in a row following 4-1 triumph over PV Christian (PHOTOS)

Make it two wins in a row for the Greenfield girls tennis team.
After defeating Frontier on Thursday, the Green Wave returned to the Davis Street Courts on Friday and pulled out a 4-1 victory over Pioneer Valley Christian.
Isabella Semonelli earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles and Rebecca Covalenco walked away with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 3 singles for Greenfield (5-3).
Lydia Wood and Karinna Kostov took No. 1 doubles 6-0, 6-0 while the Green Wave won via forfeit in No. 2 doubles.
Mohawk Trail 3, Chicopee 2 — Palmer King picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles while Hazel Foucault earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles, helping propel the Warriors to a victory over the Pacers in Chicopee on Friday.
Ivan Hillenbrand and Sawyer Thurber rounded out the win with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at No. 1 doubles.
• The Frontier and East Longmeadow girls tennis teams played an unofficial match on Friday. Eloise Powers and Eleanor Wade earned singles wins while Araceli McCoy and Brooke Charest picked up a doubles win for the Redhawks.
Mount Everett 11, Franklin Tech 5 — A five-run third inning propelled Mount Everett past visiting Franklin Tech on Friday in Sheffield.

It was the first victory of the season for Turners (1-9).
