A Georgia man is expected to be charged with several felonies following a vehicle chase from Brattleboro, Vt., that led authorities through Leyden and into Whately, according to Brattleboro Police.

At least one other person is expected to be charged, Brattleboro Police Officer Bradley Penniman said. The investigation is still wrapping up, so Penniman could not comment further before press time.

The chase started around 3:15 p.m. Thursday, when Brattleboro Police put out a be-on-the-look-out for two vehicles, according to Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Randy Thomas of the Shelburne Barracks. The notification was put out following an incident at a bank, Penniman said. There were no reported injuries.

The vehicle was spotted in Leyden about half an hour later, with the assistance of Leyden Police. By roughly 4:15 p.m., a vehicle was found in Whately, but without anyone in it, Thomas said. It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were in the vehicle from the start and which of the two vehicles contained the involved suspect.

The Georgia man was found near the state line, on the Vermont side, Penniman said.
