Alpine Ski: Three Warrior girls place in the top five in first PVIAC meet

The alpine ski season officially got underway on Thursday. 

The opening PVIAC race of the season took place at Berkshire East, with three Mohawk Trail girls placing in the top 5. 

Warrior Emmy Sisum was the winner on the girls side with a time of 26.40. Not far behind her was teammate Addie Loomis, who took second with a run of 26.71. Joining Sisum and Loomis in the top 5 was Ellie Pinkham, whose time of 27.11 placed her fourth overall. 

Six other Mohawk Trial racers placed in the top 60, with Sofiya Slocik-Gritzner taking 18th (29.43), Caroline Makosiej finishing 23rd (31.11), Cali Price placing 27th (32.83), Myah Grant taking 39th (34.52), Adriene Grant earning 49th (37.0) and Ohia Dellert taking 53rd (37.89). 

On the boys side, Liam Green had the best Warrior time of 38.05, good for fourth overall. Wyatt Sisum, Alex Schreiber and Phineas Tuttman joined him in the top 20, Sisum taking 11th (41.32), Schreiber earning 16th (44.15) and Tuttman placing 20th (46.66). 

Grady Patenaude placed 39th with a time of 56.36 for Mohawk Trail while Weston Den Ouden took 53rd (61.75) and Mohamed Abdelgawad came in 79th (84.28).
