Any unwanted drugs can be brought to drop boxes in four Franklin County towns, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

People can go to the police departments in Deerfield, Greenfield, Leverett and Sunderland to get rid of their unwanted drugs.

The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office is urging people to dispose of their unwanted prescriptions and medications left at home, hoping that this can be part of the solution to curb the opioid crisis.

“Let’s get these drugs out of circulation and help prevent addiction from taking hold in our communities,” Northwesten District Attorney David Sullivan said in a statement.
