NORTHFIELD — To consider ways the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce can support and enhance the local economy, new Executive Director Natalie Blais is visiting county business groups, including the Northfield Area Tourism and Business Associaton (NATABA).

Blais is the featured speaker at NATABA’s monthly meeting, which will be held today, Wednesday, at 6 p.m. at the Centennial House Bed and Breakfast, located at 94 Main St. Refreshments will be served.

According to a NATABA press release, Blais will outline her priorities for the chamber and solicit feedback from the audience regarding how it can grow the county’s manufacturing sector, the “creative economy” and other industries relating to hospitality, leisure, retail, arts and culture, education and outdoor recreation.

“We encourage people to come and meet Natalie and be part of the conversation,” said Joan Stoia. Stoia and her husband Steve are founders of NATABA, a tourism promotion organization for Northfield, Bernardston, Gill and Winchester, N.H.

Blais joined the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce as executive director in August, replacing Ann Hamilton who retired the previous December.

NATABA’s next meeting, on Feb. 20, will feature speaker Susan Kochinskas, owner of Flocksholm Design and designer of the NATABA publication “Explore! Guide to the Upper Pioneer Valley and Beyond.” Her talk, titled “Love Your Marketing: Creating Design and Copy That Gets Your Message Across,” will kick off planning for NATABA’s 2018-2020 publication and website.
