GREENFIELD — Greenfield Police are looking for two suspects who may have stolen a John Deere S240 lawn tractor from Padula Brothers over the weekend.

Sometime around noon on Saturday and Sunday morning, a large hole was cut in the fencing around the Shelburne Road property, coming from the side of the methadone clinic to get to the business.

Two pairs of footprints were left behind in the snow, one of a pair of sneakers and the other of a pair of boots. The people involved likely loaded the tractor onto a truck or a trailer, Sgt. Daniel McCarthy said, who is the detective on the case.

The suspects, if found, would likely be charged with four counts: breaking and entering, trespassing, malicious destruction and larceny over $250.

McCarthy encouraged anyone in the community who has a lead on who stole the tractor to contact Greenfield Police.
