Pamela Means, who holds such honors in folk music as being named the Wisconsin Folk Artist of the Year and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival’s Most Wanted New Artist, is bringing her band to Greenfield’s Hawks & Reed Performing Arts Center.

The show, also featuring music by Diana Alvarez and ZoKi, will be Friday, Dec. 28, starting at 7 p.m.

Means, who has been called “one of the fiercest guitar players and politically-rooted singer-songwriters in the music industry today” by Curve magazine, has shared stages with the likes of Ani DiFranco, Pete Seeger, Indigo Girls, Joan Baez, Howard Zinn, Angela Davis, Eve Ensler, Neil Young and Violent Femmes.

Alvarez is a Xicana vocalist, musician, poet, and video and sound artist based in Northampton. She also teaches interdisciplinary writing workshops in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, New York and Massachusetts.

ZoKi is a folk-rock trio whose members play both covers and originals, which can be moving as well as funny and quirky.

Tickets cost $12 in advance and can be purchased at hawksandreed.com, or $15 on the day of the show. To request tickets by phone, call 413-774-0150.
