Library holding craft and book chat

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Public Library will hold a virtual drop-in craft and book chat on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Participants are invited to bring their knitting, crocheting, quilting or other project on Zoom for an hour dedicated to getting a little further while chatting about books.

“We want to hear what you are currently reading, what tricks you’ve learned to improve your skills and what craft books you can’t live without,” reads a Greenfield Public Library press release.

Climate change plays continue Thursday

GREENFIELD — The LAVA Center’s series of short climate change plays, collectively titled “A Global Green New Deal,” will continue on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at 324 Main St.

Four or five of the short plays will be read at each event, followed by a discussion of the issues raised in the plays, according to a LAVA Center press release. Writer and musician Nina Gross will host Thursday’s program.

Another event in the play reading series will be offered next week, on Thursday, Nov. 4, also from 6 to 7 p.m. Writer Patricia Crosby will host.

Saturday Salon picks up Halloween theme this week

GREENFIELD — The weekly Saturday Salon at The LAVA Center, 324 Main St., will be Halloween-themed this week. Open hours are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Amie Hyson will read tarot cards. According to a LAVA Center press release, there will also be a photo booth, artists and vendors.
