It was a day to remember for Joey Mosca.

The Turners Falls senior recorded a hole-in-one at the seventh hole at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls on Tuesday, helping him earn match medalist honors against Hopkins Academy with a 1-over-par 36.

The host Thunder ultimately dropped a tight 161-167 decision to fall to 8-2 on the season.

Behind Mosca, Jack Day shot 37 for Turners Falls, while Reese Ewell carded a 43 and Liam Kerivan rounded out the scoring with a 51.

Greenfield 151, Franklin Tech 153 — It was a solid day across the board for the Green Wave. Bryce Avery shot a 37 while Johnny Marchefka, Michael Pierce and Conner Bergeron each carded a 38 as Greenfield narrowly walked away with a win over the Eagles at the Country Club of Greenfield on Tuesday. 

Brady Booska was the match medalist with a 33 while Gabe Mota (34), Tyler Lafountain (43) and Braeden Talbot (43) scored for the Eagles. 

South Hadley 165, Frontier 184 — Ryan Cetto was the match medalist with a 35 in the Redhawks’ loss to the Tigers at Ledges Golf Club on Tuesday. 

Cade Allenby (48), Cam Skiffington (49) and Gabe Solodky (51) also scored for Frontier.

Mohawk Trail 193, Central 262 — Doug Wilcox was the match medalist with a 40, helping the Warriors pick up a victory over the Golden Eagles at Veterans Golf Course on Tuesday. 

Phineas Tuttman (44), Logan Moore (47) and Gage Patenaude (62) also scored for Mohawk Trail in the triumph. 

Boys cross country

Frontier 25, Greenfield 30

Frontier 19, Smith Voc 39 —
 Frontier’s Evan Hedlund was the first across the finish line (17 minutes, 27 seconds) while Charlie Dennis wasn’t far behind in third (19:57) helping Frontier pick up a pair of wins at Highland Park on Tuesday. 

Amory Maxey (fifth, 20:07), Oliver Brown (eighth, 20:46) and Adam Paul (12th, 21:32) rounded out the Redhawk scorers.

Jackson Caron (second, 17:33), Alex Scotera (sixth, 20:26), Mason Youmell (seventh, 20:38), Dylan Breiwick (ninth, 20:58) and Javion Williams (11th, 21:29) helped the Green Wave earn a win over the Vikings.

Vincent Gauthier was the top local runner in Tuesday’s quad meet held in Orange, as the Mohawk Trail harrier finished second overall with a time of 17:04.

Monson’s AJ Linkenhoker took first in 16:41. Mohawk Trail swept the quad meet, using depth with Peter Healy taking third (19:24), and teammates Rex Kuoppala in fifth (19:56) and Aymeric Loucka in eighth (21:19).

Mahar’s Jeff LaPlante paced the home team with a seventh-place finish in 20:59. Aiden Drake was 14th (22:23), followed by Marshall Ames (16th, 23:19) and Michael LaPlante (17th, 24:04).

Girls cross country

Frontier 15, Greenfield 50 — Leah Gump (21:42), Sylvie Dibartolomeo (22:43), Nicole Plasse (22:50), Liv Christensen (23:07) and Maia Christensen (23:14) were the first five runners across the finish line, lifting Frontier to a win over the Green Wave at Highland Park Tuesday. 

Alice Fortin (10th, 25:39), Rose Fortin (11th, 25:44) and Levi Badillo (12th, 26:14) competed for Greenfield.

Mohawk Trail 21, Pope Francis 35 —
It was a top four sweep for the Warriors on Tuesday in Orange, as Virginia Krezmien paced the pack with a winning time of 22:37, followed by teammates Anya Read (second, 22:38), Natalie Lanoue (third, 22:40) and Valerie Bzomowski (fourth, 23:05).

Katie Osterman was the team’s No. 5 scorer on the day, crossing 13th overall with a time of 27:54.
