GREENFIELD — Students looking to explore academic opportunities at Greenfield Community College are encouraged to visit the main campus on Saturday, Aug. 17.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., GCC is holding an enrollment and registration event. According to a GCC press release, students will be able to apply for admission and financial aid, as well as register for fall classes, which begin Sept. 3.

The school is also announcing “GCC Is Downtown!” at 270 Main St. Held on the third Tuesday of each month, GCC Is Downtown! will give students full access to admission, financial aid, advising and registration services without traveling to the main campus, according to the release.

Counselors on admission, advising and financial aid will be available to answer questions and assist students with the application and registration process at these events. The counselors will also help students connect their academic goals with a degree or certificate option, complete the online college admission application and develop an academic plan; and will provide information about funding a college education and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Information will be provided about GCC’s program offerings, new opportunities in the medical assistant certificate program in Northampton, and a new certificate program in music recording and production, according to the release. Students can also learn more about liberal arts degrees that transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Options are also available through GCC’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Program, if students are interested in professional training and development.

Registration is also open at the main campus Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins are always welcome and no appointment is necessary.

For additional information, contact Aaron Hellem in GCC’s Office of Admission at 413-775-1810 or by email at hellema@gcc.mass.edu.
