Div. 4 Round of 32

No. 16 Stoneham 2, No. 17 Franklin Tech 1 – The Eagles rallied from an early 2-0 deficit when Kaitlin Trudeau tallied in the third quarter from Hannah Gilbert, but depsite 18 penalty corners, Franklin Tech was unable to find the equalizer in a 2-1 season-ending defeat on Saturday in Stoneham.

“We had a great season, a lot of things to be proud of,” Franklin Tech coach Rian Lovett said.

The Eagles finished 16-3-1 overall. Stoneham advanced to play top-seeded Uxbridge in the Round of 16 on Tuesday.

“We’ve come a long way the last two years,” Lovett said.

The Eagles will graduate a terrific group of seniors in Trudeau, Lilly Ross and Meredith Bistrek.
