Several Franklin County building projects have been included in the Senate’s $3.65 billion “Capital Facility Repairs and Improvements” bond bill, according to Sens. Stan Rosenberg, D-Amherst, and Adam Hinds, D-Pittsfield.

If the Senate-approved bond bill is eventually passed by the full Legislature and signed by the governor, Franklin County could see money for the following improvement projects:

$30 million for Farren Care Center improvements in Montague.

$3.5 million for the redevelopment of the First National Bank Building on Bank Row in Greenfield.

$2.6 million for the Turners Falls pedestrian bridge and sewer pump station in Montague.

$1 million for a new public safety complex in Heath.

The bill also includes $475 million for state university and community college improvements, and $85 million for the Clean Energy Investment Program, to improve energy efficiency of state-owned facilities.
