Bulletin board: Bill Young records second hole-in-one of career

For the second time in his golfing career, Bill Young sank a hole-in-one on Monday.

Young aced the 15th hole at the Country Club of Greenfield, using a 9-wood from 140 yards out.

Young’s second ace of his career was witnessed by Bill Smith, Al Woods and Ed Pedruczny.

Flyers 8, Menace 7 — Ariel Peters tripled and drove in three runs, helping the Flyers hold off the Menace in a Franklin County Summer League contest on Monday night at Murphy Park.

The Flyers scored three times in the first and three in the third. Emma Petersen added a hit and an RBI in the victory, and pitcher Brayleigh Burgh struck out nine in a complete-game outing.

The Menace received a home run and three RBIs from Kylee Gamache, while Adelaide Ehle added two hits, including a double, and scored twice. Caroline Payson also had two hits on the night, and Raine Wonsey recorded 11 strikeouts in the circle.
