Turners close to naming field after longtime coach

The Turners Falls High School delegation is closing in on officially dedicating their softball field for longtime coach Gary Mullins.

The final hurdle to clear will come on Oct. 25, when the Gill-Montague Regional District School Committee votes on whether to name the school’s ballfield after Mullins, who has been the softball coach at TFHS since 1980. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Shelburne Falls results

Kyle Leger and Vaughn Tucci shot the high single score of 111 while Missy Finn and Ed Skorupski had the high triple of 281 in Sunday Scotch Doubles at the Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley this past week. 

In the Monday Mixed League, Finn rolled the women’s high single (102) while Marilyn Wilson had the women’s high triple (267). Leger rolled the men’s high single (128) and triple (331) scores. 

Wilson tallied the women’s high single (115) in the Wednesday Mixed League, with Karen Herzog recording the women’s high triple (299). Tam Hanna had the men’s high single (118) and triple (337) scores. 

The Thursday Social League saw Colleen Barrows roll the women’s high single (106) and triple (275) scores. Ray Dodge had the men’s high single (102) while Bruce Palmer had the men’s high triple (286). 

Middle school soccer
