■The Shelburne Arts Co-opinvites inquiries from local artists who are interested in submitting work for jury as potential working members. All art and craft media are considered.

Writers

■Organizers of the 2018 Great Falls Word Festival, to be held Nov. 8 to 11 at the Shea Theater Arts Center in Turners Falls, is seeking submissions from writers, writing groups, publishers and agents interested in being presenters or having a booth in the festival’s book store.

As positions are limited, writing groups and publishers are asked to list their participants in order of preference to be accepted. Submissions should include which days/times you are applying for; include multiple days/times to increase your chances of being approved.

All participants must purchase a festival button for $20. A limited number of buttons have been underwritten and are available for $15 or $10 for students.

■Submissions are being accepted for the 2019 Perugia Press Prize for a first or second book written by a woman.

The prize is $1,000, plus publication of the submitted manuscript (generally between 45 and 85 pages). Participants may submit more than one manuscript.

Submissions are due Nov. 15 and must be accompanied by a $27 non-refundable entry fee. A winner will be announced by April 1, 2019.

The last three prize-winning books have been: “Girldom” by Megan Peak, “Starshine Road” by L.I. Henley and “Guide to the Exhibit” by Lisa Allen Ortiz.
