GCC receives $100,000 toward matching funds for annual fundraiser
The Greenfield Community College Foundation annual fundraiser has received a donation of up to $100,000 toward matching gifts.
The anonymous donor will match any current donor who increases his or her gift by 10 percent and provide a 2-to-1 match for new contributors (including previous donors who did not give last year).
Commenting on the challenge, campaign Co-Chair Joe Ruggeri said, “Community members who have been waiting for the right moment to make a donation to the GCC Foundation should wait no longer. This 2:1 opportunity is huge, and offers the potential for the College to make an incredible difference in the lives of many of our friends and neighbors in the community.”
Said GCC President Robert Pura: “The $100,000 challenge gift speaks to the understanding that this donor has about the importance of education and the commitment to access as well as excellence.”
Funds raised by the GCC Foundation will be used to support students and programs at the college. The $100,000 challenge grant matches gifts made through May 31. Checks may be mailed to the GCC Foundation, 270 Main St., Greenfield, MA 01301. Donations may be made online now at:
