Bulletin Board: Tech Dodgeball Tourney
Franklin County Technical School will host its sixth annual Dodgeball Tournament on March 21 to benefit the school’s girls’ soccer program.
Teams are open to anyone and should consist of five players. Cost is $25 per team, with cash prizes of $200 and $100 for the top two teams. The double-elimination tournament begins at 6 and ends when one team remains. Teams must register by March 18, and the tournament is limited to 42 teams.

The Turners Falls 5th- and 6th-grade Suburban League boys’ basketball team hit the road in Southampton Sunday and departed with a 39-28 win behind Marcus Sanders’ 16 points.
Bryce Hill and Anthony Peterson contributed with 7 and 6 points in the Powertown win.
When Jessica Wrisley and Natalie Denkiewicz were not tending goal on Sunday evening, they were busy each recording hat tricks to lead the Frontier FireCrackers to a 8-2 win over the Northampton Blue Dragons in a under-12 division girls’ soccer game at AllSport in Northampton.
Denkiewicz and Wrisley split time in goal in the win.
Kathryn Hioe added one goal and three assists in the win, while Alexa Kassis chipped in a goal. Kate Hickey recorded assists on two goals, while Megan Dejnak, Claudia Rajballie and Denkiewicz each had one helper.
The Franklin County Babe Ruth Baseball League will hold Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle registrations for the upcoming season at Greenfield Middle School on March 4 through 6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Early registration fee for Babe Ruth is $85.

Deerfield Rec signups
The Deerfield Recreation Baseball and Softball teams will hold registrations on March 4 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Deerfield Town Hall in South Deerfield.
Baseball is open to kids in grades K-4 (T-ball, Rookie and Minor League levels), while softball is open to grades 2 through 6.

Legion players sought
The American Legion Post 81 baseball team is looking for anyone interested in trying out for the team for the summer 2014 baseball season.
This season the team will have both a Junior and Senior Division team, opening it up to more players. Players must be 19 years of age or younger to be eligible to play. To be eligible to tryout, candidates must get on the consolidated player registration form by calling Tim Capuano (222-1372), Bill Phelps (774-3954) or Kyle Phelps (522-7317).
Tryouts will be conducted at Veterans Memorial Field in Greenfield in late April or early May.
The Greenfield Minor League will hold registrations for the 2014 season at the Lunt Field club house on three dates in early March.
Registrations will take place on Saturday (10 a.m. until noon), March 7 (5:30-8 p.m.) and March 8 (10 a.m. until noon).
The league is a division of Cal Ripken Baseball and open to area youths ages 6-12. Cost is $75 per player with a $10 sibling discount. Financial assistance is available. Parents should bring a birth certificate to the registrations.

The Newt Guilbault Community Baseball League will hold registrations on Thursday at the Montague Police Department community room from 5-7 p.m.
The league is open to residents of all area school communities except Greenfield, Mohawk and Frontier. Cost is $75. Bring a birth certificate.
