Letter: A special message
Thank you for the cards you donated to us. They were beautiful. We have been with the “Wounded Warrior Battalion” for 10 years. I believe this will be my last year because of health problems and I will be 85. I love this place and the people here.
I want to thank the children who wrote the cards and drew such great pictures ... the troops loved them. Thank the teachers who allow time to get them done.
Thank Anita Fritz for holding the cards for us and putting it in The Recorder.
A special thanks to three girls from Staples who take many cards home with them to write the most beautiful things to the wounded and fills the cards.
What a pleasure to send the cards out. Thanks to the Fire Department, Women of the Moose, Elks, Bank America and Deerfield Medical Center.
After I leave this area, I go to Florida to continue doing cards. We are not funded by anyone and those cards are wonderful for us to use ... they are different from today’s cards and far more beautiful. I feel honored to use them. We have one school with 1,000 kids and five other schools plus the same organizations, also an orphanage.
These Wounded Warriors are amputees or those with burns or brain damaged. They gave for us, what can we do for them?
Thank you to all those special people who donated cards and stamps to help us with our mailing. Without everyone’s help we could have never have done this project by ourselves.
Thank you for being there for us.
ANNE and ERNEST MARWICK
