Letter: Bus drivers

Who are they?

They must have a safe driving record. They must be sober, free from drugs. They must be willing to be patient with the passengers. They must know the roads in their locale. They should not swear (unless it’s under their breath). They should be prompt. In the winter and fall, one should not keep bus riders waiting. And when the young people use foul language, maybe not even understanding the meaning (that they heard from thoughtless adults), the bus driver keeps going. He/she tries to be courteous, and may even smile.

You don’t have to believe me, just ride the bus one time. Do you ever wave at the school bus drivers? Thank God, they have the compassion to do the job. Thanks.
