Letter: Little sense

Mr. David Kempf writes to say he is amazed that people can predict that it will be cold next January (climate) but not whether it will snow on a particular day a month from now (weather). I have to say that we shouldn’t be too surprised that someone so easily amazed fails to take into account the thickness of the ice when he misrepresents the state of decreasing Arctic ice and increasing temperatures.

If he wants to point to any given year’s statistics, while ignoring multi-decades of trends (trends that will continue for several thousand years) he should expect most people of sense to dismiss his thoughts.
