Letter: A low priority
I am 81 and am recovering from a broken hip. I rely on our Senior Center for my exercise as well as socializing with people my age.
I was interested in the articles in the Recorder Jan. 1, about the future of our town. The mayor seemed very optimistic about our schools, which is important. The police are doing well with the new police chief. Also the library and waste treatment plant were mentioned. We will be able to drive through the covered bridge and perhaps buy the golf course and Lunt’s.
I was saddened though that there was no mention of a new Senior Center. It is well known that our space is very limited, which limits the number of programs offered. Greenfield has more than 4,000 seniors but because we tend not to speak out, little comes our way. Our needs seem to be very low on the mayor’s list of priorities.
