Letter: Welcome interest
A “Great Books”-based curriculum, using the classics from ancient Greeks to Hemingway, on the Northfield campus, would attract a serious and high-quality student befitting the D.L. Moody legacy. They would be an asset to the community while on campus. With the withdrawal of Grand Canyon the exciting possibility opens up again. Dr. Stan Mattson, Head of the CS Lewis Foundation will have a challenging task in this economic climate, but we wish him well.
Unlike GCU, Stan Mattson has made every effort to introduce himself and the college, and to become acquainted with town boards and citizens.
As one of the 60 original “Founders” who gave financial support, we urge town residents to also welcome this institution.
We also urge the Green family to help make this a reality, in addition to the many physical improvements they have already financed, like the restoration of Sage Chapel.
