Letter: Trust shattered
According to The Recorder, Al Norman proclaims himself a wetlands expert and gives his written revision on the local wetlands ordinance to council President Mark Wisnewski. Then Mark gives it to David Singer, chairman for the Appointments and Ordinances Committee for review and later full council recommendation and approval. And Dave accepts and goes forward with it.
This scenario is totally unethical! My trust in these officials is shattered.
And to the apologists that say it was the committee’s fault for accepting the draft and not Al’s had better rethink what they are saying. Al, having come to the age of reason some time ago, rewrote the ordinance to his benefit with every intention of submitting it for approval. And he did just that, ignoring the majority of Greenfield’s voters.
There should be some resignations from the council. That or a recall.
