Agricultural plastics recycling program up and running

Four Franklin County transfer stations now accept agricultural plastics free, according to the Franklin County Solid Waste Management District. The Waste Management District implemented the program with Massachusetts Community Innovation Challenge Grant and Mass. Department of Environmental Protection grant money. Franklin County farmers may drop off plastics at any of the four collection sites, at the transfer stations in Greenfield, Charlemont/Shelburne, Deerfield and Wendell. Hours vary.
