Special town meeting set for Wednesday at 7 p.m.
ASHFIELD — The town will hold a special town meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. to seek money transfers from existing accounts, for four projects. The meeting takes place in Town Hall.
Voters will be asked to transfer up to $5,000 to the winter roads account, and $10,000 to set up an account that will be used to eventually buy a Police Department traffic speed trailer. These transfers are to come from the vocational school expenses account.
The town will also transfer $2,500 from its grant program income to set up an account for Town Common maintenance.
Master Plan session set for Sunday at 3
COLRAIN — Help create a new future for Colrain’s center village. The town and the Franklin Regional Council of Governments are hosting a “Center Village Master Plan Visioning Session” on Sunday, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Pitt House/Historical Society at 8 Main St. Parking is available at the Brick Meeting House on Jacksonville Road.
The town has been looking for ways to revitalize the center of town, which has many vacant buildings that need repair. At 3 p.m., there will be a center village walking tour. A project overview will be presented at around 4:15 p.m., followed by discussion groups on: vitality and business development; housing; and landscape/built environment.

Tax collector’s office to close for vacation
COLRAIN — The town tax collector/treasurer’s office will be closed for vacation from June 27 through July 14.
Also, the Town Office will be closed on July 4, for the holiday.
