Rowe hires interim as new administrator
ROWE — Janice Boudreau of Heath, who has been serving as the town’s interim administrative assistant since July, was unanimously chosen by the Board of Selectmen this week to stay on as the town’s permanent administrative clerk.
Boudreau, one of four finalists for the job, was hired for the 32-hour-per week position, at the salary of $21 per hour.
“Our decision was very difficult, because the candidates were all very good,” said selectmen’s Chairwoman Marilyn Wilson.
Boudreau’s title will be “administrative clerk,” which is the title given in the town’s charter, said Wilson.
Boudreau replaces Ellen Miller, who was put on a paid leave of absence in July, and who has signed a negotiated retirement agreement with the Board of Selectmen, which has declined to explain the issues behind her unconventional departure.
Before coming to Rowe, Boudreau had been Heath’s town coordinator for two years, Wilson said.
The town had posted the vacant position in newspapers, on the town’s website, and on fliers posted in town buildings. Wilson said 10 candidates applied for the position, and four finalists were selected and interviewed during the week of Jan. 6.
The board voted to hire her for the position on Wednesday.
“She had all the experience that we needed,” said Wilson. “She has experience dealing with insurance policies, town meeting warrants, and the town website. We followed the (town charter’s) job description, and she met all the requirements.”
