Northampton police plan to charge two with shooting out downtown windows with BB gun

Northampton Police Lt. Detective Jody Kasper said a 22-year-old East Longmeadow man and a 23-year-old Palmer man will be summoned to court to face multiple charges of malicious destruction of property.

The windows of 12 businesses and one vehicle in downtown Northampton were damaged, including four windows at Florence Savings Bank, two windows apiece at Local Burger and Hugo’s bar, and one each at India Palace, The Collector Galleries, Millennium Package Store, Northampton Wellness Center, Sylvester’s Restaurant, Pleasant Street Carwash and U.S. Rep. James McGovern’s office.

Kasper said the pair are also connected to similar damage to businesses in Amherst and Palmer.

Kasper said the suspects were identified in part through a review of surveillance footage from around the affected area, including images of the car police believe the suspects were traveling in.

Kasper said Detectives Corey Robinson and Timothy Satkowski are the lead investigators on the case and made contact with both suspects Wednesday, Kasper said.
