Uncontested ballot in New Salem election Monday

NEW SALEM — The annual town election is scheduled for Monday, with polls open from 11:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the town hall annex or old library, 24 South Main St.

There are no races, barring last minute write-in campaigns, and several empty posts.

Empty and with no names on the ballot are a four-year term on the Planning Board, a two-year term as a library trustee and two three-year terms on the School Committee. Town Clerk Stacy Senflug said there is a possible write-in candidate for one of the School Committee seats and Jean Derdarian is running as a write-in for a three-year term as assessor.

On the ballot are the following, all for three-year terms unless otherwise specified:

∎ Incumbent Randy Gordon, Selectboard.

∎ Incumbent Jamie Beauchesne, Board of Health.

∎ David Cramer, Planning Board, five-year term, previously appointed.

∎ Melissa Burke, School Committee, two-year year term to fill a vacancy.

∎ Incumbent Travis Miller, library trustees.
