Heath changes election day to April 30

HEATH ­­— The town has moved up the date of its annual town election, to coincide with the April 30 state primary for U.S. Senate candidates. This means deadlines for nomination papers are earlier than usual.

Wednesday is the last day to obtain nomination papers from Town Clerk Hilma Sumner, and Friday is the last day to file nomination papers with her.

Terms that expire this year, and the incumbents, include:

Selectman, Thomas Lively; Finance Committee, Jeff Simmons; Assessor, Valerie Kaempfer; Planning Board, Doug Mason; School Committee, Robert Gruen and Andrew Draxler; Library Trustee, Jan Carr; Jeff Simmons and Bob Tanner Jr., constables.

Other town officials whose terms expire are: Dog Officer, Bob Tanner Jr.; Tree Warden, Alanson Nichols; Measurers of Wood and Bark, Nichols and William Clark; Field Drivers, Christine O’Brien, Michelle Howe, David Freeman, and Jonathan Diamond; and Sexton and Burial Agent, Matthew Lively.
