Montague Nov. 12
6:53 p.m. — Report of a brush fire on Turners Falls Road; caller says there is a house nearby, and nobody appears to be home; Turners Falls Fire Department located the fire and report it is a small brush fire and they are able to handle it; confirmed no home there.
Greenfield, Nov. 12
10:03 a.m. — Caller from Chapman Street reports someone tried to jimmy open the cash box at Mike’s Energy business; didn’t gain entry.
11:09 a.m. — Caller from Grove Street reports her car was broken into overnight; a GPS was stolen; the vehicle was unlocked; investigation led to arrest of a 16-year-old charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony.
11:35 a.m. — Caller from Day’s Inn on the Colrain Road reported that someone in a room there had a knife; on arrival the suspect was detained and checked for weapons; none were found but the investigation that followed located items of stolen property that went missing in a rash of car breaks last night. A second suspect was subsequently arrested. The same 16-year-old arrested on Grove Street; charges involve breaks into the cars on Coombs Avenue the previous night, and others.
2 p.m. — Report of an unwanted person at an Armory Street residence; investigation led to arrest of Steven M. Fishman, 26, of Bald Mountain Road, Bernardston, on a warrant.
4:18 p.m. — Caller from Shaw’s Mart on Main Street reports a man chased him and his wife and threatened them. Officer investigating.
4:19 p.m. — Caller from Chapman Street reports a mental health patient on the property; the woman was located by an officer and she was taken to the hospital.
5:27 p.m. — Minor accident on the Mohawk Trail at the rotary.
6:14 p.m. — Store clerk at the Valley Mart on Mill Street reports he was just robbed at gunpoint; officers sent and a K-9 officer from Montague was called in as well; dog on track; under investigation.
Orange, Nov. 12
11:30 a.m. — Caller reports a breaking and entering at a Russ Street address, and the reporting person is the home owner that was away, and found a second floor window open; officer checked the residence and found nothing, and he advised that may be related to an incident that occurred over the weekend and that is still under investigation.
5:28 p.m. — Call regarding a suspicious male at a store on New Athol Road, dressed in camouflage clothing, and has a bow with him; officer spoke to both the male and an employee there, but found the male was just getting warm, and the employee said all is OK.
Orange, Nov. 13
1:31 a.m. — Unwanted person reported at a North Main Street location; that person was removed without incident.
Greenfield, Nov. 13
3:40 a.m. — Domestic disturbance on Elm Street where the caller reports her wife won’t let her in the bedroom; officers responded, and spoke to both people involved, and found all is well as of now.
8:48 a.m. — Walk-in has questions about a text and phone scam that he got in which the message claimed a family member had been injured in a car accident and to please call; the number given was an Internet number; the reporting person didn’t return the message or the call.
12:20 p.m. — Caller from Heather Court reports lawyers are going around to his neighbors asking for information about him; the caller was advised the public defender can ask neighbors about him.
2 p.m. — Officer at the Energy Park on Miles Street to serve a warrant; arrested was Nancy Lee Potter, 58, listed as homeless, on charge of inhaling glue/toxic substance.
2:29 p.m. — Domestic disturbance reported on Chapman Street where the caller stated her brother’s ex is in his house, with his two children, and the reporting person says they broke up, but the ex won’t leave.
3:08 p.m. — Despondent person reported at a CSO facility on High Street; officers walking the female to the ER at the hospital to be evaluated.
4:29 p.m. — Walk-in from Main Street reports vehicle was stolen while was jailed.
9:31 p.m. — Disturbance reported on Mill Street where the caller says two males are fighting; arrested Kimberly Jones, 25, listed as homeless of Greenfield, charged with assault and battery.
11:18 p.m. — Domestic disturbance reported at Beech Street location; arrested Nathan Manuel Ortiz, 30, of Beech Street, Greenfield, charged with malicious destruction of property over $250, assault and battery, and threatening a crime.
Montague, Nov. 13
1:35 a.m. — Caller from Turners Falls Road reports her boyfriend came into her apartment, drunk, and attacked her while she had her child in her arms; officers responding; found that the female will be staying at her mom’s tonight, and she was advised of options, and will go to court in the morning; investigation led to a summons for the male for domestic assault and battery, intimidating a witness, and malicious destruction of property over $250 value.
4:26 p.m. — Caller from reservoir area south of the center of Main Street where the caller says a large buck just struck his car; the reporting person was then unable to locate the animal; the operator isn’t injured; officer found there was damage to the passenger side mirror and door, as well as the rear tail light.
8:51 p.m. — Officer checking a vehicle pulled over on the side of Millers Falls Road at Lake Pleasant Road; he found the people involved were trying to figure out their GPS; they were given directions.
Greenfield, Nov. 14
6:41 a.m. — Officers on Bouker Street to serve a warrant; arrested was Tara Shippee, 39, of Bouker Street, Greenfield, charged with possessing cocaine with intent to distribute, subsequence offense.
8:59 a.m. — Caller from Hayes Avenue reports her vehicle was keyed during the night time.
Montague, Nov. 14
7:08 a.m. — Vehicles on Fifth Street had mirror smashed, tires deflated but neither vehicle was entered.
