NORTHFIELD — Jed Proujansky will be the town’s newest Selectboard member, winning a three-way race in Tuesday’s annual town election with more than two thirds of the vote.

The three-year Selectboard seat, held by Kathleen Wright for two terms, was the only contest on the ballot.

According to Town Clerk Gail Zukowski, Proujansky took 290 of the 430 votes cast, Dianne Cornwell took 127 and Chester “Chet” Sinclair had 13.

Proujansky has been a member of the School Committee at Pioneer Valley Regional School District for 13 years. He is the director of information technology for Consolidated Health Plans in Springfield.

Proujansky has said he wants to protect Northfield’s open spaces and farmland and protect the environment while fostering a business-friendly town to increase the tax base.
