McKibben to speak Friday at UMass

AMHERST — Author and environmental activist Bill McKibben is scheduled to speak Friday at the University of Massachusetts about the fossil-fuel divestiture movement and the upcoming special election primary in Massachusetts.

McKibben, founder of the climate-change education and action organization 350.org, plans to speak in a 1:30 p.m. appearance scheduled by the UMass Fossil Fuel Divestment Campaign. The talk, free and open to the public, will be on the Lincoln Campus Center’s tenth floor.

Among the topics of McKibben’s talk is the movement by universities, cities, and religious institutions across the United States to divest from the fossil-fuel industry. According to organizers, five campuses have divested so far and the city of Seattle, Wash., is pursuing divestment of its $1.9 billion pension fund, while Since divestment campaigns have spread to 302 universities.

He will also address comments made by Democratic Senate hopeful Rep. Stephen Lynch in favor of proceeding with the Keystone XL Pipeline project.

This will be the campaign’s second event this semester, following a teach-in and rally on April 5.

Bill McKibben is a Communist, backed by George Soros. Please look into his background....its on the internet. He is also backed by the Ford Foundation, another Communist source of funding. His credentials in 'global warming' are no better than yours or mine. He is a tool of the United Nations....and we all know, too well, how the U.N. wants to lessen the United State's stature and influence in the world. If you like Communism, you will like Bill McKibben.
