Conway complex next on Planning Board’s list
CONWAY — The town Planning Board will pull the fire, police, ambulance and highway department heads together to figure out where the town could put a safety complex in a public meeting set for March.
The original garage committee will also attend.
“We want to sort out where we’re at and start talking about what the possibilities may be,” said Planning Board Chairwoman Diane Poland. “We want to start sorting out technical issues related to the current building and requirements needed.”
The meeting is part of the debate on how to use the Rose property, the 11-acre cornfield off Shelburne Falls Road.
One idea is to put the fire and ambulance departments on the Rose property.
No decision would be made at the meeting, Poland said.
A location for the Highway Department would also be discussed. One idea is to put the department by the salt shed beside the Conway Grammar School and then move the safety complex to the current highway building.
Before the town decides how to use the Rose property, it will get a wetlands delineation, as suggested by the state Department of Environmental Protection, once the snow melts.
