Buckland absentee ballots ready

BUCKLAND — Absentee ballots are available for the Nov. 6 election. If you qualify for an absentee ballot, you must complete an application to vote absentee.

If you did not complete and return your annual census, your voter status could be listed as inactive. If you have any questions regarding your voter status, contact Town Clerk Janice Purington. She asks that voters check before the election, to avoid having to complete forms at the polls.

Hawley clerk urges voter registration

HAWLEY — Town Clerk Lisa Turner is reminding all residents who want to vote in the Nov. 6 presidential election to be sure they are registered to vote. State and federal laws impact voter registration status, such as failure to return annual street census, change of name, or if you have moved.

If you will be 18 years of age on election day, you are eligible to vote. The final day to register or change your party status is Oct. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Also, any resident who will be out of town, is disabled or in a medical facility may request an absentee ballot. Call Turner at 339-4319 to request the absentee ballot or check your voting status.
