Greenfield Recreation Notebook

Park cleanups: Save the date for park clean-ups. The Energy Park will be having spring clean-ups on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and May 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. The Hillside Park cleanup is scheduled for May 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. Green River Swimming Area is scheduled for May 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. Bring a friend, a rake, and work gloves. Help us get our parks ready for a busy summer season.

Tee Ball registration: Registration is now open. Tee Ball is for ages 5 to 7 (must be age 5 at the start of the program). Players will learn fundamental skills and good sportsmanship through confidence building drills and activities along with scrimmages. Saturdays (May 3 to June 7), 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Lunt Fields. Cost: $30 residents, $35 nonresidents. Volunteer coaches needed.

Start Smart Baseball: Sign up today for Start Smart Baseball. Start Smart Baseball is for children, age 3 to 5, and teaches children the basic skills necessary to play organized baseball while spending time with their parents. All participants leave with their very own baseball kit. Tuesdays, May 13 to June 17, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Greenfield Swim Area. Residents, $45; nonresidents, $50.

Senior Softball League: Interested in a Senior Softball League for those 50 and older? Contact the Recreation Department.
