Montague Parks & Recreation Notebook: March 6

Open Swim: Turners Falls High School Pool; Tuesday and Friday evenings: March 7, 11 and 14; Family Swim, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Adult Lap Swim, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Log onto www.montague.net for a full schedule of entrance fees, Youths under 12 must be accompanied by adult; non-swimmers must wear a USCG Certified life jacket. If school is cancelled, open swim will also be canceled

Tee Ball: Children, age 4 to 6; April 26 to June 7. Child must be at least age 4 before the start date of the program. Proof of age will be required at time of registration. When: Saturday,10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Early Bird Registration Fee: Montague residents, $30; non-residents, $35. (Last Day of Early Bird Rates; March 28); Regular fee: Montague Residents, $35; non-residents, $40; (Registrations after March 28)

Rookie Leagues, age 6 to 8, April 26 to June 7, Saturdays, 9 to 10:15 a.m. Montague residents, $35; non-residents, $40. (Includes hat/shirt/pants)

The department recommend kindergarten players start with Tee Ball before playing Rookie ball. This is a coach-pitch program. All players must bring their own glove; cleats allowed. Enrollment maximum dependent upon number of parents who volunteer to coach.

Senior League Softball, early April to mid-June for girls, age 8 to 12. Proof of age required. Must turn age 8 before June 30. Age 12 must not turn 13 before June 30. Montague residents, $60; non-residents, $65. Non-residents may register starting March 24.

Adult Co-ed “B” Softball League. Adults; 18 and older. If you have a team and a sponsor, you’re half-way there. If you are interested in joining as an individual player, you will be placed on a list that will be distributed to all league captains. Season, mid-May through mid-August. Team registration deadline: April 18
