Thanks from the county dog shelter

Tuesday, January 16, 2018

The Board of Directors, staff and volunteers at the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter are deeply grateful to the Franklin County Rotary and Greenfield Kiwanis Club for selecting the shelter as a beneficiary of the 2017 Festival of Trees.

Thanks to the hard work of the event organizers, the festival was hugely successful this year. For three weekends in December the Annex building at Yankee Candle was transformed into a wonderland filled with twinkling lights and an abundance of holiday cheer. More than 60 trees sponsored by a variety of area businesses, were generously decorated with gifts and raffled off.

The Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter relies heavily on community support to stay afloat, so it is especially gratifying when local organizations such as the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs step forward to help. Donations allow us to care for dogs like Kringle, who was featured on 22 News in mid-December because he was found abandoned, starving and near death. (He is now recovering, warm and safe in one of the shelter’s foster homes.)

Thanks to all of those in our community who have supported the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter and contributed to the success of the 2017 Festival of Trees.

Board of Directors,

Friends of the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter
