Letter: Valuing education

I was pleased to read Robbie Cohn’s column in praise of the work of the Greenfield Education Foundation and the GCC Foundation. Like Robbie, I’m thankful to be living and working in a community that values education.

In addition to the strong educational programs at the Greenfield Public Schools and Greenfield Community College, we have another treasure in The Literacy Project. This program has been running for nearly 30 years and offers free classes to adults who did not complete their high school education. It gives them a second chance at success and helps them get back on track with their education and career goals.

As the executive director of The Literacy Project and a GCC graduate myself, I’m proud of our community’s commitment to affordable and accessible education for all!
