Letter: Make it two headlights
At night if it has one headlight, is it a motorcycle? Then it doesn’t need much of the road. Whoops, it is a one-eyed monster. It’s actually an automobile with one headlight. (I better move over farther to the right.)
Although it is nice to have a thrill in fun, there is no place to play on the highway.
I wonder what a motorist with one headlight does, if his/her final headlight fails? Is that why the Registry of Motor Vehicles require two headlights? There have been two illuminating devices on cars since the early 1900s. Motor vehicles have all kinds of safety devices, except for the driver. He/she has to think for themselves. This is America, by golly! For goodness sake, we know that.
To all who walk around their car periodically to look for problems such as tires, windows, etc., and check their lights, including directionals — thanks. Heard on television: “The lights are not only for you to see, but for others to see you.”
Happy New Year!
