Letter: Animal cruelty
On Sept. 28, the Greenfield Police Department was notified of something being thrown over the Montague City Road bridge. An officer spoke with the lady who threw her cat over, in a burlap bag, with a stone in it.
She admitted it was her sick 13-year-old cat.
Lt. Dodge of the Greenfield Police Department told me the “story” — that a nurse had attached an IV to the cat for three days. Also she administered a sedative. If the nurse was trying to be a veterinarian, why didn’t she give the poor cat enough to put it to sleep? Then the owner could have given the faithful cat a proper burial!
In my opinion, all of the above is animal cruelty.
