Buckland officers re-elected

BUCKLAND — By a vote of 165 to 83, voters agreed to change the elected positions on the town’s Recreation Committee to appointed positions, and they returned several incumbents to office on Tuesday.

About 27 percent of the town’s registered voters (326 voters out of 1,209) came out for the no-contest election.

Those re-elected were: Selectman Kevin P. Fox, Moderator Phoebe Walker (one-year term); Assessor Marion E. Scott, Constable A. Henry Phillips, Board of Health member James T. Bauerlein, Buckland Library Trustee George L. Dole.

Martha Thurber, who was appointed to the Mohawk Trail Regional School Committee, was elected to her first three-year term.

Tree Warden David Lowell was re-elected through write-in votes, as were Finance Committee members Karen Blom and Paula Consolo. Lori Daby was elected to a one-year Finance Committee seat through write-in votes.
